Flodesk’s link in bio is a clean, minimalist page that comes with Flodesk’s email marketing platform, so it’s a good fit if you already send your newsletter with Flodesk. atom.bio is a dedicated link in bio tool with more design options, blocks like WhatsApp, contact forms and maps, and analytics with traffic sources, all on its free plan (free pages show small ads).

Flodesk is known for clean, minimalist layouts that still catch the eye. atom.bio, the tool behind this blog, focuses on what happens after someone taps your link: design you can fully control, and data on what people click. I used both for our online shop, looking at setup, design flexibility, analytics and price.

What is Flodesk, and what is atom.bio?

What is Flodesk?

Flodesk homepage: design emails people love to get

Ease of use

atom.bio

There’s barely any learning curve with atom.bio. Its goal is clear: anyone, whatever their tech skills, can create a polished page in minutes.

After signing up, the platform guides you through a quick process that took me less than 5 minutes. The interface is clean and each step is in plain language, so I didn’t need a tutorial:

  1. Choose a template
  2. Add your details (name, bio and any other key info)
  3. Add your links
  4. Tweak the colors and fonts to match your brand
  5. Publish, and you’re live

If you’re like me and prefer personalizing everything, you can start from a base template and customize it as much (or as little) as you want.

Mobile editing: I managed our shop’s page on the go without a hitch. Swapping links, quick updates, a last branding tweak before a campaign: all from my phone, no laptop needed.

What atom.bio does well is let you go deeper with customization without touching code. That works for beginners and for people who love tweaking small details.

Flodesk

Example Flodesk link in bio page with an email sign-up form

The first thing that stood out when I used Flodesk for our shop was its visual polish. That’s what Flodesk is best known for: stunning but minimalist visuals.

Its templates are simple, and so is the page building. Like atom.bio, it’s straightforward and guided. The drag-and-drop editor with blocks made it easy to get the look I wanted without fussing over code.

One thing to know: the link in bio tool is a fairly new part of Flodesk, and Flodesk is built mainly around email marketing. Analytics aren’t its focus, and customization is more limited than in most link in bio tools. You also get it as part of Flodesk’s email platform, not as a standalone app.

Still, getting a Flodesk page up and running was smooth.

Customization

atom.bio is for creators who want every visual element to reflect their brand. You can fine-tune almost everything: brand colors, button shapes, fonts and layout are just the start.

For the background you can use a gradient, a single color, one of the stock images or your own image.

Link highlight animations guide visitors’ attention to your most important link.

You can also embed YouTube videos right on the page. For our shop, I put a product demo video at the top of the page, and our featured links got more clicks.

All of this works without technical knowledge. The controls are color pickers and simple settings that update as you go.

Flodesk

Flodesk editor with font, size, color and alignment settings

Customization in Flodesk is simple and beginner-friendly. You pick one of their elegant minimalist templates and tweak the details: clean lines, balanced spacing and a refined use of color.

The result was better than I expected. Most templates give your page a polished editorial look, like a magazine page.

But because Flodesk leans minimalist, beyond colors, fonts and basic layout you don’t have much room for advanced touches. Animated buttons, custom background patterns or embedded videos weren’t options. That didn’t matter for our shop’s basic needs, but creators with a very specific vision might want more flexibility.

On the plus side, the visual editor shows changes instantly, so you can experiment without fear of breaking the design. If you want a cohesive page with minimal effort, Flodesk delivers.

Analytics

atom.bio

Analytics are one of atom.bio’s highlights, not an add-on. On the free plan you can:

  • See page views and clicks on each link
  • See your top links
  • See where your visitors come from (traffic sources like Instagram or Google)
  • Pick a date range to compare days or weeks
  • Export your data as CSV
  • Connect Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel

Looking at day-by-day numbers helped me spot that our product links did better on weekends, and I used that when planning posts.

The numbers are easy to read. You don’t need to be a data analyst.

Flodesk

Flodesk’s link in bio analytics are beginner-friendly too. Once your page is live, you can see how many times each link is clicked, which gives you a general idea of what’s getting attention. The dashboard is uncluttered.

The flip side is that click counts don’t tell the whole story. I couldn’t see where visitors came from or how their behavior changed over time, so it was harder to tell which of my campaign tweaks worked.

If you just want to know whether your links get clicks, Flodesk does the job.

Pricing

atom.bio pricing

You can try atom.bio on the free plan without paying anything. That surprised me: with this much flexibility and analytics, I expected to pay.

The catch: free pages show small ads. Premium costs $3.99/month (or $29/year) to remove them and also emails you when someone fills in your contact form, and Premium + Domain is $96/year if you want your own domain. The ads were placed where they didn’t get in the way, so they didn’t bother me much. See the atom.bio pricing page for details.

Flodesk pricing

Flodesk has three plans, all including its Link in Bio tool along with its email marketing tools:

Free plan: $0/month

  • Access to Link in Bio, forms and landing pages
  • Good for testing the platform
  • No advanced automations or checkout features

Professional plan: $35/month

  • Unlimited emails and subscribers
  • Automated workflows
  • More detailed email campaign analytics
  • Best if you use both Link in Bio and email marketing

Advanced plan: $59/month

  • Everything in Professional, plus unlimited checkouts and payment options, and advanced sales analytics
  • For creators or small businesses selling products or services directly

Flodesk is pricier than atom.bio once you pay, but its link in bio is included on every plan, even the free one (with a few customization limits).

Flodesk vs atom.bio: which should you choose?

Flodesk’s link in bio is one part of a platform built mainly around email marketing. It’s not the core of the product, but it doesn’t fall short: its minimalist templates are a real strength.

atom.bio is built just for link in bio pages. Beginners and experienced marketers can both launch a page that looks professional, with analytics, full design control and blocks like WhatsApp buttons and contact forms, all on the free plan.

After testing them side by side for weeks, I’d pick atom.bio if you want a highly customizable page with analytics you can actually act on, without adding a monthly bill. I’d pick Flodesk if you already run your newsletter there and want a page that matches your emails.
